Truck driver injured in fatal car accident in Colorado
Traffic officials are still trying to determine what caused an accident that killed two men. The fatal car accident occurred along a Colorado highway. The two men that died are also first class airmen with the Air Force. Out of the two men, it is not known who was driving the vehicle.The two men were traveling on the highway around 9:00 a.m. Authorities believe that the accident occurred when the operator of the vehicle observed a couch in the middle of his path. He veered to the other side of the road, away from the piece of furniture, but an approaching truck sideswiped the vehicle. The truck’s driver suffered injuries to his leg and has had surgery since. Sadly, both of the men died at the scene of the crash.Air Force officials have offered their sympathy and condolences to the surviving family members. The cause of accident is still being investigated by officials along with the Air Force. Authorities do not believe that speed was a contributing factor and are unsure how the couch landed in the middle of the road in the first place.
Close friends and family are likely grief stricken from this sudden fatal car accident. The collision caused the truck driver’s leg to become fractured, and he ended up in a surgical procedure at a Colorado medical facility. Depending on the results of this continuing investigation, the driver of the truck could choose to seek compensation either through the estate of the deceased to recover damages from the crash by filing a personal injury claim or through whatever party was responsible for the couch landing in the middle of the road.
